Who’s ready for the heat? My favorite place to be is in the A/C, the pool or the lake this time of year!
June is a special month for me. My son, Charlie, has given a whole new meaning to Father’s Day. Seeing things through his young eyes has given me a new perspective on the smallest things. Collecting bugs, watching Peppa Pig, going to the playground, playing chase outdoors…these are the things that make up my personal life now. I feel lucky everyday. I also see how much my father influenced (and continues to influence) me. He taught me how to be a great dad and I appreciate him everyday!
Happy Father’s Day to all the great dads out there!
I’d also like to wish my brother-in-law, Mike Gionta and his fiancée a Happy Birthday this month! Looking forward to celebrating with you guys.
Have a great June!

Like father, like son.
May was a fun month for our team!
We delivered a small donation and lots of dog treats and dog food bag clips to Carrollton Animal Services & Adoption Center. When you adopt a dog, you’ll find some JVM swag in your adoption bag! We also enjoyed visiting with the cats, dogs and staff at CAS!
Max and Angie participated in the Drive 4 UR Community where Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford of Carrollton brought 15 brand new cars to Newman Smith High School to test drive! For each person that test drove a car, Metrocrest Services received $20! Max and Angie had the pleasure of checking folks in and also taking a test drive! Max drove an Escape and Angie drove a Mustang. By the end of the day, there were 302 test drives which provided Metrocrest Services with $6000!
We also hosted a food drive in our office to help stock the Metrocrest food pantry. With school ending, there’s an increased need for other supplies as many children only eat school provided meals. The pantry feeds many families in our community and we are thrilled with the turnout of our drive. Definitely the most successful one we’ve had, thanks to our wonderful clients, friends and family!
Monthly Facebook Giveaway!!!
In honor of Mother’s Day, our May Facebook drawing was all about mom! We asked our clients, friends and family to share their favorite photo with their mom (past or present). Everyone that posted a photo was entered into a drawing for a $20 Amazon gift card!
Congratulations to our winner, Sue Gutshall! Thank you for sharing this great photo of your mom. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out.
Every summer, our team gets calls from customers after a fun weekend on the water takes a turn for the worse. Often, these accidents could have been prevented with just a few simple precautions. Here are a few tips we like – courtesy of our partners at Safeco.
Don’t let an accident wreck your fun!
Life Preservers . Be sure you have life jackets for everyone on the boat. Did you know that more people in their 30s die in boating accidents than any other age group?
Watch the Back of the Boat. Carbon monoxide kills in minutes. So tell your passengers where your exhaust pipes are located and turn off your engine when people are in the water, and don’t let passengers “ski” or “teak-surf” by holding on to the back of the boat. Both Washington and Oregon made teak-surfing illegal in the last few years, after several tragic deaths. Carbon monoxide detectors are standard on most new boats; older boats install devices for less than $100.
Alcohol and Boating Don’t Mix . More than 50 percent of drowning’s result from boating incidents involving alcohol. You don’t drink and drive, so don’t boat and drive.
Boats Need TLC Too . When you’re out on the water, make sure your gas tanks are vented and bilges are free of vapors, oil, waste and grease. Carry a charged fire extinguisher. Have your boat’s operating systems checked yearly by a certified marine technician. The Coast Guard Auxiliary and United States Power Squadrons also offer free vessel safety checks.
Experience Counts! The U.S. Coast Guard says that operator errors account for 70 percent of all boating accidents. Make sure anyone who drives your boat is properly trained. You can also earn boat insurance discounts from Safeco and other insurers if you complete a safety course with the Coast Guard Auxiliary or U.S. Power Squadrons.
Happy and safe boating, everyone!
